About me..
My love of photography started in my 20's and has continued throughout the years since. Over the past 15 years, I have been able to take photography much more seriously in terms of learning my craft, acquiring gear, attending many workshops and doing the one thing that can make all the difference... practice, practice, practice!. Photography has truly changed the way I see the world. Noticing the details and being able to capture those details and their emotional impact is what I aim to do. Wildlife photography is what drives my passion. It is difficult, you never know if the animals will appear, how close you will get, will the weather cooperate, will the light be right...it is that uncertainty , the hope that there may be an amazing surprise, that the universe may deliver that really amps the anticipation. I actually love all types of photography and enjoy everything from senior student portraiture to studio and field pet photography.
Mhiles and me, my buddy!
I am a Mom to 2 amazing twenty-something kids, a wife to my sweet husband, best friend and partner in all things, Mark. My dog family is so important too. We have two rescue mutts that are a huge part of my day every day, bringing love and light always. I practiced small animal internal medicine for decades and now have decreased that to a bit of consulting, opening up time for this next chapter in my life, photography, travel, supporting all things good for the world's wild things, including Think Wild our local wildlife rehabilitation, conservation and education organization.
In deep! Photographing Ruddy Ducks in British Columbia...
One of my most favorite places to photograph wildlife is in Yellowstone in the raw cold of the Winter.....
